Cabraal denies all accusations as court bans him from leaving country
A Sri Lankan court has extended a travel ban on the country’s recently resigned central bank governor while authorities investigate corruption allegations against him.
Two public figures have made complaints that Ajith Nivaard Cabraal engaged in corruption in his two periods as central bank governor, according to media reports. Cabraal, a close political ally of Sri Lankan president Gotabaya Rajapaksa, resigned from office on April 4, amid a worsening economic crisis.
