Godwin Emefiele demands right to stay as central bank governor while campaigning in election
Nigeria’s central bank governor Godwin Emefiele has gone to court to seek a ruling that he can remain in office while campaigning to become the country’s next president.
Unnamed parties submitted an application on Emefiele’s behalf to stand as president for Nigeria’s ruling party, the All Progressives’ Congress, on May 6, together with the compulsory 1 million naira ($240,000) fee.
