UK inflation climbs to 7%
Rapid rise in fuel prices pushes inflation to new 30-year high
Consumer price index inflation in the UK rose further in March, touching 7%, the highest figure for 30 years, according to estimates by the Office for National Statistics.
Inflation was up 0.8 percentage points relative to February, with surging fuel prices making the largest single contribution to the headline number.
