Lebanese judge brings corruption charges against governor
Salameh denies all wrongdoing as his brother is transferred to another judge’s custody
A judge in Lebanon has brought criminal charges of illicit enrichment against the country’s central bank governor, Riad Salameh.
Ghada Aoun told reporters yesterday that she had charged Salameh as well as his brother Raja. Raja Salameh was arrested on March 17 and is still being held in custody.
Aoun charged the central bank governor in his absence after he failed to attend a summons to be interviewed, Lebanese newspaper The National said. The report added that without an arrest warrant, Aoun
