Biden nominates law professor for OCC

Saule Omarova favours more regulation and suggested the Fed take over deposits, alarming banks

US president Joe Biden nominated Saule Omarova to serve as comptroller of the currency on September 23.

Omarova, who currently holds a chair in law at Cornell University, would be the first woman comptroller, if confirmed by the Senate, and the first person of colour.
