Europe leads on reserve manager salaries

Central banks pay a wide range of salaries to their reserve managers

Europe has the highest average pay among central bank reserve managers, though there remains wide variation in salary levels within regions.

The $51,200 average reserve manager salary reported by nine central banks in Europe was the highest of any regional grouping in the 2020 reserves benchmarking survey. The highest average reserve manager salary among respondents was at a central bank in a high-income European nation, at $120,000.

By region, Asia was the next highest payer ($40,000)
