Bank of Canada promotes from within; BIS appoints regional chair; FCA names new executive
Canada: The Bank of Canada has promoted the head of its financial markets department to fill the vacancy left by the retirement of deputy governor Lynn Patterson.
Toni Gravelle will take up his new role on October 1. He will be jointly responsible for overseeing the central bank’s financial system activities with fellow deputy Paul Beaudry.
Governor Stephen Poloz said Gravelle was a “versatile, thoughtful and experienced” leader.
