Riksbank cuts number of monetary policy meetings
Swedish central bank aims to optimise research and forecasting resources
Sveriges Riksbank has decided to reduce its annual monetary policy meetings in a bid to better optimise its research and forecast capabilities.
From 2020, the central bank will hold five policy meetings per year, down from six, the Riksbank said on June 25. The decision resumes a trend towards fewer meetings that has been ongoing since Sweden adopted an inflation target in 1993.
