People: Rajan keeps options open on BoE top job
Former RBI governor leaves open possibility of taking on BoE governorship; and more
UK: Raghuram Rajan, the former governor of the Reserve Bank of India, has left open the possibility that he might take over the governorship of the Bank of England when Mark Carney steps down.
Speaking during an interview with the BBC, Rajan said: “I am very happy where I am” when asked about speculation regarding the BoE job. When the interviewer noted this was not an outright ‘no’, Rajan added: “I think it says what it says.”
