Caputo quits as Argentina central bank chief
Former finance minister cites ‘personal reasons’ for departure after just three months
The governor of Argentina’s central bank has submitted his resignation to the country’s president, just over three months after taking office.
In a statement, the central bank announced Luis Caputo had told President Mauricio Macri he was leaving the bank for “personal reasons”.
“Caputo expresses his conviction that the new agreement with the International Monetary Fund will re-establish trust on the fiscal, financial, monetary, and exchange rate situation,” the statement says.
