Bank of England experiment tests RTGS with DLT in mind
DLT proof-of-concept participants suggest implementing “cryptographic-proof” model
Participants who took part in the Bank of England’s (BoE) latest real-time gross-settlement (RTGS) proof of concept have recommended making the new payments system capable of providing “cryptographic proof”.
The UK central bank invited four distributed-ledger technology (DLT) firms to take part in the experiment in March, to determine whether the new system could support “innovative payment technologies”.
