Brazil’s central bank launches fintech laboratory

Central bank partners with big tech firms to help modernise how financial services are delivered

The Central Bank of Brazil has launched a new platform that will make it easier for emerging fintech companies to test their products before launching to the general public.

Structured around a sandbox model, the Laboratório de Inovações Financeiras e Tecnológicas (Lift) will establish a “virtual” environment where applicants can test their products in relaxed regulatory conditions.

“Lift is an opportunity for proposing solutions that translate into expanding financial inclusion in the country
