People: PBoC deputy appointed vice-mayor of Beijing

China: One of the Chinese central bank’s deputy governors has been appointed the vice-mayor of Beijing, according to an official government announcement.

Yin Yong, who was appointed deputy governor of the PBoC in 2016, was awarded the position at a meeting of the Beijing Municipal People’s Congress held on January 19.

With a master’s in public administration from Harvard University, Yin has served in a number of public offices, including as deputy director of the reserve management department
