Goodfriend nominated to Fed board
Central bank veteran to fill one of the four vacant spots on the board of governors
President Donald Trump has nominated economist Marvin Goodfriend to fill one of the four vacant seats on the Federal Reserve’s board of governors, a move markets had widely expected.
According to a statement from the White House on November 29, the professor of economics at Carnegie Mellon was picked to replace Sarah Bloom Raskin, who resigned from the board in 2014 after serving for four years.
Subject to approval from the Senate, Goodfriend will now join Lael Brainard, Jerome Powell, Randal
