France: Robert Ophèle has been appointed chairman of the Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF), France’s stock market regulator.

The second deputy governor of France’s central bank will now be responsible for safeguarding investments while ensuring financial markets abide by all appropriate regulation, including Mifid II. His term is for five years and is non-renewable.
