NBU governor resigns three years into a seven-year term
Valeria Gontareva has revealed she will step down as governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).
The governor told a press conference today (April 10) that she would leave the central bank on May 10, giving the government time to appoint a successor. “My mission is complete,” she said.
Though Gontareva is just three years into a seven-year term, she has weathered a particularly tough period in office. She was appointed in June 2014 in the aftermath of the revolution that toppled president
