RBA minutes reveal uncertainties surrounding the labour market

Minutes from the latest monetary policy meeting of the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) highlighted the board's "uncertainty" about the momentum in the labour market.

Published on February 20, the minutes offer a "mixed" picture of the labour market: "The unemployment rate had increased slightly at the end of 2016, but full-time employment growth had increased, having fallen throughout most of the year."

However, board members also acknowledged the unemployment rate was forecast to "edge lower"
