2016 sees major change among central bank governors

Double the number of new governors were appointed in 2016 compared with 2015

The past year has seen a particularly high number of new central bank governors appointed, double the figure in 2015, according to figures published in the latest edition of the Central Bank Directory.

A total of 34 new governors were appointed over the year, with some highly regarded and long-serving incumbents stepping down from their posts. The figures come from the 2017 edition of the directory, which will be published on December 19.
