Croatian National Bank sees inflation recovering this year and next

Annual CPI inflation fell to –1.8% in May, but the central bank expects it to rise to 1.2% in 2017

Croatian inflation fell to –1.8% in May, but the country's central bank expects it to recover to –0.9% this year and 1.2% next, according to projections released today (August 10) in its latest bulletin.

Annual CPI inflation fell sharply in the first five months of the year, which the Croatian National Bank attributes largely to "a drop in the annual rate of change of energy prices". Core inflation also fell over the period, to –0.8% in May.
