Narayana Kocherlakota appointed to chair at University of Rochester
India: The Indian government has reappointed Urjit Patel deputy governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for a second three-year term, the central bank announced on January 8. Patel served his first three-year term in January 2013.
He has played a significant role in the recent debate over the future shape of the RBI's monetary policy-making apparatus, as chair of an ‘Expert Committee to Revise and Strengthen the Monetary Policy Framework'.
