Neel Kashkari to head Minneapolis Fed from 2016
Past experience includes oversight of Troubled Asset Relief Program
The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis will be run by Neel Kashkari from January 1, who was responsible for heading up a key fire-fighting programme in the US during the financial crisis.
He will succeed Narayana Kocherlakota, who has served as president and chief executive officer since 2009. Kocherlakota will reportedly skip the final Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting of his tenure, on December 16.
