Christine Lagarde stressed the importance of individual accountability in improving the culture of the financial industry while speaking at a conference today (November 5), organised by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

"In essence, what is needed is a culture of greater virtue and integrity at the individual level in the financial industry," said the IMF's managing director, as she called for "swifter action" to rebuild trust.
