Trinidad and Tobago: The Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago has announced the appointment of Sandra Sookram as deputy governor, highlighting her "prolific academic background" in a statement released on July 15.

Sookram will serve a five-year term and lead the central bank's research, statistics and financial stability functions. She was previously a fellow at the Sir Arthur Lewis Institute of Social and Economic Studies at the University of the West Indies.
