Bernanke laments scripted policy meetings
Admits a few were ‘extremely exciting’ during the crisis
Most central bank meetings are "very scripted" and "deadly boring" according to former Federal Reserve chair Ben Bernanke.
Bernanke, who stepped down in January 2014, was speaking to former Bank of England governor Mervyn King for BBC Radio 4's Today programme.
During the interview, first broadcast on December 29, both men reflected on their day-to-day experiences during the financial crisis, with King observing they "went to a large number of meetings".
