Reza Moghadam quits IMF to join Morgan Stanley in London
IMF's Europe chief to ‘return home' after 22 years with the Fund
Reza Moghadam, director of the European Department at the International Monetary Fund, is quitting the Fund after 22 years to return to the UK with Morgan Stanley as vice-chairman in its global capital markets division.
The IMF said the search for a replacement begins "right away", with Moghadam stepping down immediately from his role as department director and being replaced by one of his deputies, crisis management specialist Poul Thomsen, as acting director for an interim period.
