People: Sri Lanka promotes Samarasiri to deputy; Russia picks card system head
P Samarasiri promoted from assistant governor; Komlev appointed in Russia
Sri Lanka: The Central Bank of Sri Lanka today named P Samarasiri as its third deputy governor, the culmination of more than 30 years of service at the institution.
Samarasiri was previously an assistant governor at the central bank, a role he held for over six years, while he also served as the secretary to the monetary board. Before that he was director of the bank supervision department.
He joined the central bank in 1983 after graduating from the University of Colombo, and later completed an
