Czech paper dissects central bank inflation reports
A Czech National Bank working paper, published yesterday, finds that central bank inflation reports are "generally of good quality" but have struggled "to communicate the true inflation factors" at times.
The paper, Inflation Reports and Models: How Well Do Central Banks Really Write? by Aleš Bulíř, Jaromír Hurník and Kateřina Šmídková, assesses the accuracy of inflation reports in Chile, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Thailand, Sweden, the UK and the eurozone.
