Bank of Canada reports payment system developments

A report, published by the Bank of Canada on June 29, gave an appraisal of the central bank's role in developing payment and settlement systems to support the financial system and how these have evolved during the past year.

The oversight activities report considered a number of areas, including the large-value transfer system (LVTS), Canada's principal payments system, as well as derivatives clearing, foreign exchange markets and plans for recovery and resolution of banks.
