Namibia issues first new banknotes in 19 years
The Bank Of Namibia on March 21 issued new banknotes for only the second time in history, as part of an initiative to improve the security features of the notes.
The new issue of 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200 Namibian dollar notes were unveiled as part of the country's celebration of 22 years as a separate state.
Entering into circulation from May, the new notes will feature a portrait of Sam Nujoma, the first president of the country, on the 10 and 20 dollar bills.
