Visco confirmed as Bank of Italy governor
The Italian government has confirmed the appointment of Ignazio Visco as the next governor of the Bank of Italy, ending months of uncertainty about the leadership at Palazzo Koch, the headquarters of the central bank.
Visco was selected by Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi on October 20 to replace Mario Draghi, who will move to Frankfurt on November 1 to head the European Central Bank (ECB). His nomination went to the Bank of Italy's high council, which delivered their opinion on the
