Nepal launches polymer banknote graft investigation

The Public Accounts Committee of the Nepalese parliament has reportedly ordered the Finance Ministry and the Nepal Rastra Bank to conduct an investigation into possible corruption in the printing of polymer banknotes.

Local media reports in Nepal said the committee made its demand on Wednesday after a meeting with finance minister Bharat Mohan Adhikari, and central bank governor Yubaraj Khatiwoda at Singha Durbar, the parliament building in Kathmandu.
