Governor of Lesotho’s central bank dies

Moeketsi Pius Senaoana, the governor of the Central Bank of Lesotho, has died after losing his fight with cancer.

The governor passed away at the Medi-Clinic in Bloemfontein, South Africa, on Sunday morning.

Senaoana had been governor since April 2007. He joined the central bank in April 2006 as a deputy governor, and served as acting governor following the departure of E.M. Matekane before taking on the role permanently.
