Nobel Laureate Yunus dismissed from microlender by central bank
Bangladesh's central bank has dismissed Muhammad Yunus, a Nobel Laureate and microfinance pioneer, from the Grameen Bank, a microcredit lender he founded in 1983.
Khondaker Muzammel Huq, the chairman of the Grameen Bank, on Wednesday said he had received a letter from the central bank saying Yunus had been "removed" from his post as managing director.
