UK FSA’s Ross nominated for Esma executive role

The European Securities and Markets Authority (Esma) on Tuesday nominated Verena Ross, the director of the UK Financial Services Authority's (FSA) international division, for the post of executive director.

Ross, who has held her current role at the FSA since October 2009, said she was humbled by the nomination. "The opportunity to participate in the shaping of [Esma], along with the chairman, Stephen Maijoor, is both a great challenge and an important opportunity to serve Europe's citizens,"
