BIS appoints Chile’s De Gregorio to chair regional consultation group
The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) on Monday appointed José De Gregorio, the governor of the Central Bank of Chile, to chair its Consultative Council for the Americas.
The BIS said De Gregorio would head the consultation group for a two-year term, effective immediately. De Gregorio succeeds Henrique Meirelles, the former governor of the Central Bank of Brazil, who stepped down in December at the request of Dilma Rousseff following her election victory last October.
