SNB appoints new media spokesman
The Swiss National Bank (SNB) on Thursday appointed Walter Meier, the deputy economics editor Neue Zürcher Zeitung, a Swiss broadsheet, as its media spokesman.
Meier, who has worked for the newspaper since 1980, had been picked as he was a "recognised specialist" in economic and monetary issues, the central bank said. "During his career as a journalist, both in Switzerland and abroad, he has devoted considerable attention to monetary policy issues," the SNB noted.
