Canada names Goldman banker as governor’s adviser

Tim Hodgson, the chief executive of Goldman Sachs Canada, has been appointed special adviser to the governor of the Bank of Canada.

The central bank said on Tuesday that it would benefit from Hodgson's "profound and extensive experience in investment banking and markets" during a period when financial regulation and market infrastructure were evolving rapidly.

Hodgson has worked at Goldman Sachs since 1990 and has been chief executive since 2005. Prior to his first stint at the central bank
