Switzerland delays new banknote series

The Swiss National Bank has postponed the release of its new banknote series on concerns over the note's security features.

The central bank said on Wednesday that using innovative security features on the notes would necessitate additional development work. The work will push back the issue of the first note in the series, the Sfr50 ($46) bill - originally scheduled for an autumn 2010 release, to 2012.

Fortress Paper is the sole provider of the banknote substrate for the Swiss currency. However
