Bulgaria’s Iskrov re-nominated hours after resignation
Bulgaria's ruling GERB party has renominated Ivan Iskrov for a second term as governor after declaring his reappointment agreed in May illegal.
Iskrov, first appointed in October 2003, handed in his resignation to the Bulgarian parliament on Thursday after the GERB complained about his reappointment.
However, hours later Stoyan Mavrodiev, the GERB's deputy chairman, said that Iskov had been renominated and believed he would be reelected.
