Meirelles comments on future, bank lending
Henrique Meirelles, the president of Central Bank of Brazil said on Friday that he would remain in his current position until March 2010, amidst rumours that he might consider a return to politics.
According to Brazilian media reports, Meirelles told a conference audience in Sao Paulo that he had not come to any firm decisions regarding a possible return to politics ahead of legal deadlines for party affiliations.
