South African growth levelled in first quarter
ARTICLE - South Africa's central bank said on Apr 25 that although there were conflicting signals on the domestic economy during the first quarter, growth appeared to have levelled off.
"All in all, it seems that economic growth levelled off during the first three months of 2001, although activity remained at a relatively high level," the bank said in a statement.
