Hayami-inappropriate to raise outright JGB buys

Bank of Japan governor Masaru Hayami said on Feb 27, 2001 the central bank's current monetary policy already has some quantitative easing effects and that it is willing to continue this easy monetary policy.

"The BOJ has quantitatively eased monetary policy and we'll continue that approach," Hayami testified in parliament. He added that it's inappropriate for the central bank to increase outright purchases of long-term government bonds, adding the bank for now is unwilling to adopt inflation
