Tanzanian banking sector to continue deregulation

Liberalization of Tanzania's financial institutions has set a strong basis for increased investments and economic growth, the country's Finance Minister Basil Mramba has said.

Mramba was quoted by local media on Mar 1, 2001 as making the remarks the day before on an occasion celebrating the 30th founding anniversary of the Tanzania Investment Bank (TIB)."Macro-economic and financial sector reforms have introduced discipline to the economy and financial services, making the economy grow at 5.1
