New Thai bank head to make monetary policy changes

THAILAND - Incoming Thai central bank Governor Pridiyathorn Devakula said on 4 June that there are going to be changes in monetary policy.

In his first official address since his appointment by the government last week, Pridiyathorn said that the changes will be aimed at two main objectives; to achieve economic growth and ensure the stability of the baht.

"Monetary policy depends on economic conditions and if conditions change, monetary policy has to be adjusted, too," he said.
