Reserve Bank of India boss may leave for politics

Reserve Bank of India governor Bimal Jalan is likely to leave his post in the next few weeks for a seat in parliament, Reuters reported a banking source as saying.

India's central bank chief Bimal Jalan, credited with shoring up the country's external finances, is likely to leave office in the next few weeks for a seat in parliament, a banking source said.

"Jalan is likely to be nominated to the Rajya Sabha by the president," the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said
