BOK to focus monetary policy on stock market

SOUTH KOREA - Korea's central bank will conduct its monetary policy with the goal of stabilizing local stock markets, the banks chief has said.

"Since stock markets are vulnerable to psychological factors, the central bank will focus its interest-rate policy on stabilizing market sentiments," said Bank of Korea (BOK) Governor Park Seung at an economic conference held on Monday at the BOK's headquarters in Seoul.
