New Hong Kong banknotes

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) announced Sunday 10 October that the remaining three denominations, $20, $50 and $1,000, of the new series of Hong Kong banknotes will be put into circulation from 11 October 2004.

The new $20, $50 and $1,000 banknotes will be available for exchange in all branches of the three note-issuing banks starting from 11 October 2004. The first two denominations of the new series, $100 and $500, have been in circulation since December 2003. All existing banknotes
