The technological revolution sweeping the financial system will not render Norwegian banks obsolete, said Norges Bank deputy governor Ida Wolden Bache.
In a speech today (May 11), the official stressed the country’s banks are at the forefront of innovation. “Norway ranks at the top in Europe in terms of use of internet banking, and robots are performing tasks such as customer contact and processing of loan applications,” she said. “The largest Norwegian banks have the lowest cost-to-income
