UAE central bank opens new fintech office

New office aims to attract international investors, central bank says

The Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates has established a fintech office in an effort to attract international investors, it announced on November 25.

Governor Abdulhamid Saeed Alahamadi said the new office will allow the central bank to “accelerate the transformation of digital payments and support financial inclusion”.

He called the new office “a pivotal element of the strategy for advanced innovation”. The central bank first proposed opening an office in November 2019.
