Latin America lags in use of robotics, but faces same threats
Robots threaten more than 50% of jobs across region, report warns, but can also boost productivity
The introduction of robots in Latin American economies remains below the world’s average, but it is expected to unleash sweeping changes to labour markets across the region, according to a report released by the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB).
‘Robotlution: The Future of Work in Latin American Integration 4.0’ shows Brazil, the Caribbean and Mexico are leaders in the region in automating their industrial processes. However, they still only record one to two robots per thousand workers
